PG has been a lifesaver. The staff treat you with care and sympathy, as an individual. They're the most caring set of people I've come across. PG have always been there when I needed them.

Approximately two years ago I contacted PG, who paid my health insurance. They have not just provided me with financial help but enabled me to see a specialist doctor who suggested a Pacing approach. I needed help with this and once again PG came to my aid. They found out the specialists, I was assessed by them and put on a programme. I started going for a walk for 10 minutes every day and doing 15 minutes of housework. Now I go for a walk for an hour everyday and do an hour's housework. In the last month I have started working on a voluntary basis twice a week. I feel that I am getting my life back again. If it weren't for the support and the information that PG have found out about my condition I wouldn't have discovered the treatment which has turned my life around.

The first thing a locum should consider is taking out a PG policy to protect their income. You might expect a heart attack at the age of 70, but not at 57. The PG policy is one of the best things I've done, it's a mutual for pharmacists. They have provided me with fantastic help and support through a very difficult time.

I joined PG when I was a locum pharmacist. I realised that if I were to become incapacitated I would have no other income than State Benefits. Though I’m now an owner, I have maintained my membership as a protection against the possibility of long term incapacity in the future.

When I became a self employed pharmacist, I realised that if I was unable to work due to sickness or accident it would be wise to have an insurance policy to cover my income. It was good to know that this policy was in place, and now I’m semi-retired, the lump sum I received when I closed my policy was a very welcome addition to my savings.
